MJD Building & Carpentry was started by Mark — a tradesman who'd spent years watching building companies let clients down through poor communication, surprise costs, and work that didn't match the quote. He set MJD up to do the opposite: one fixed price, one team, one standard of finish across every project.

We're a family business. That matters to us — not as a marketing line, but because it changes how we work. We're not managing dozens of sites simultaneously or sending different crews to different jobs. When you hire MJD, you get the same people from the first survey to the final handover. People who take pride in what they build because it's their name on it.

Over the years we've built up a team with deep experience across every trade: brickwork, carpentry, plumbing, electrics, tiling, plastering. We don't subcontract the bits we can't do — we don't have those bits. That means you're not coordinating between different companies or trying to work out who's responsible when something isn't right.

We work across residential projects of all sizes — single-room refurbishments, full house renovations, extensions from ground up, kitchen and bathroom remodels, landscaping, and bespoke carpentry.
